Lead Teacher
Profile and Description
The Lead Teacher is an individual charged with the duty of teaching young children between the ages of six weeks through five years. Teachers have direct interaction with the children and hold the enormous responsibility of nurturing, educating, and molding very pliable little lives. Teachers provide children with an environment that is both caring and secure where they grow
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare lesson plans for the children on a daily basis at least one week in advance
Preparing creative activities that all children can participate in
Preparing games and outdoor activities children can engage
Monitor children’s progress and development
Prepare daily reports for each child
Prepare reports on children’s development
Alert the center director of any developments
Oversee the delivery of nutritious lunches and snacks
Develop activities and teaching programs that are culturally and spiritually appropriate
Supervise children AT ALL TIMES
Comfort children
Establish routines
Initiating discipline in a positive manner
Promoting early education and literacy
Reading books to children
Attending to basic needs of children

Assistant Teacher
An hourly position that reports to the Director. The assistant teacher is a highly organized, compassionate, and self-starting individual dedicated to inspiring wonder and joy in preschool-aged children by implementing a content-rich curriculum and character development
Minimum Qualifications
45 hours or completion of the 45 hours within 90 days of employment
one year of experience working in a preschool setting
Maintains a current certificate for the four-hour first-aid and four-hour adult/child/infant CPR course
Preferred Qualifications
knowledge of early child development, ELC Licensing requirements, and policy
Familiar with character education, classical education, Direct Instruction, Core Knowledge, and mastery-based instructional practices
Bi-lingual a plus

Duties and Responsibilities

Model and support students in developing virtuous character by establishing and maintaining a highly ordered classroom culture where scholars and staff demonstrate respect, responsibility, caring, trustworthiness, fairness, and citizenship
Teach and actively monitor individual students, in small groups, and whole class in all subjects throughout the day
Create a safe and positive learning environment
Implement the comprehensive, content-rich curriculum with precision, integrity, and enthusiasm
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, mastery-based lessons that integrate school-defined goals and objectives
Administer and analyze benchmark and in-program assessments; adjust instruction accordingly
Manage the class by setting clear expectations of behavior, establishing reasonable routines, and promoting self-discipline
Assist in planning and implementing field trips, curriculum days, and school events
Communicate effectively and expediently with parents regarding student performance and progress
Before and end of day supervision/teaching of students
Support the school’s mission through fidelity to policies and practices
Adhere to Early Learning Coalition (ELC) and Florida’s Department of Children and Families (DCF) regulations and requirements
Perform other administrative duties as needed, required

Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older
Background verification check
Read staff policy and procedure handbook and acknowledge that you understand its directives
Fill out required forms to be kept in your personnel file
Wear hairnet or hat while in the kitchen
4 hours of food and nutrition training (or willing to obtain)
Be able to lift up to forty pounds
Responsibilities
Prepare weekly menus that reflect all Food Program requirements
Work with Administration Team for approvals
Prepare breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks for all classrooms
Serve meals to each classroom on time, and at the appropriate temperature
Work with staff to collect meal numbers before food preparation of each meal
Prepare appropriate amounts of food for each classroom, as per food program guidelines
Place weekly food orders through approved vendors
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areas
Make sure all thermometers are working properly
Ensure all food items are checked for expiration dates
Wash and sanitize all dishes
Clean the entire kitchen and appliances throughout the day
Remove and dispose of trash and recyclables daily
Organize and store groceries, food orders including non-food items
Turn in all kitchen expense receipts and prepared food item labels (CN labels) to the Administration Team
Protect the privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to families, children, team members, and administration
Build positive, respectful relationships and communications with families, children, team members, administration, Board of Directors, and the communities in which we serve
